Carlos Albizu University (CAU) is pleased to announce that its Masterís Program in Industrial and Organizational Psychology has just been ranked number 3 of its kind in a recent article published by The Industrial-Organizational Psychologist. The results of this study indicate that CAU has one of the best Masterís Programs in I/O Psychology in the country and the best program in the South Eastern United States. This ranking is especially significant to the faculty and administration of the University because it is based on student rankings of quality. The survey evaluated a number of criteria including but not limited to faculty support and accessibility, and quality of instruction. In other words, it is an endorsement of the program by the students who believe that they are getting a great education. I/O psychologists play an important role in the functioning of organizations. An I/O psychologist applies psychological principles to the solution of problems at work.
They intervene with individuals and corporations in public and private sectors to impact both work behavior and the work environment. An I/O psychologist develops and implements assessments and interventions to improve both individual and organizational effectiveness. An I/O psychologist may act as a manager, director, or vice president of: personnel, human resources, organizational development, employee relations, training, personnel research, and organizational planning. CAU also offers a Master Degree in Psychology with majors in Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy and School Counseling. All of the Masterís Degree programs are designed to meet the needs of working professionals who have many demands on their time and energy. Courses are offered in the evenings and on Saturdays. The current student body includes both full time and part time students. CAUís Masterís Degree programs focus on the practical application of skill sets that are vital to success in the field and meet all of the state requirements for licensing in the fields of Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy and School Counseling.
